3 Top tips for fuelling the body for winter training

  1. Increase your calories: The body burns less fat and more carbohydrates in winter months and uses energy to stay warm so ensure you have good carbs in your diet to fuel your workouts.
  2. Build your immune system: Eat vegetables that are rich in Vitamin C and Iron such as spinach, broccoli and tomatoes, which are high in antioxidants that keep the body strong to fight colds and illness.
  3. Eat in season: Try to change your diet to eat foods that are different from what you have been eating all summer and are more seasonal as the body responds better to foods you don’t eat all the time.
